The BARS Scholarship Committee has awarded, with the consent of the Board of Directors, three scholarships for 2013. Two of these scholarships are to returning college students and one is to a high school freshman going on to college. The June 29th presentation took place at the Hyannis Library. The two $1500 scholarships were awarded to: Samantha Beynor, University of Connecticut, Junior, average 4.0, and Katrina Malakhoff, Harvard University, Junior, average 4.0.
The presentation was made by Ralph Krau, Chairman of the BARS Scholarship Committee. A requirement of the scholarship is that the recipient major in a marine science.
