Barnstable Association of Recreational Shellfishing Inc., a Massachusetts Charitable Corporation, (BARS) recently awarded two scholarships in the amount of $1,000.00 to students Matthew Catanazariti and Reece Hoppensteadt. They are 2016 graduates of Barnstable High School and both will be majoring in environmental sciences. In addition, a grant in the amount of $1,000 was awarded to Emma Childs.

BARS also awarded a scholarship to Colin Caton, from Sturgis High School East majoring in Environmental Conservation.

Also, the group awarded a $1,500.00 scholarship to Michelle Katz from Cape Cod Community College for her continuing education in her major of Marine Biology specializing in the science of Wildlife Management at U Mass Dartmouth.
