The Sixteenth Annual BARS Blessing of the Rakes took place June 8th, 2019. Thank you to Reverend John J. Perry, Pastor of Our Lady of Victory Parish in Centerville, for blessing our rakes with help from BARS member, Steve Hoxie.
Barnstable’s Natural Resources Program will offer two FREE shellfishing classes open to all ages this summer.
Every year for the past fourteen years the Natural Resources Department of the Town of Barnstable Marine and Environmental Affairs Division has sponsored Clamming Classes for Kids.

We did it — $8,075.95 collected in July 2018 for the scholarship fund — a new BARS record! We handled 161,519 cans and bottles. That is a lot of trash that isn’t along the road.
Ask any BARS member just who can repair a clam rake, and they’ll point you in Dempsey’s direction.

BARS had great success at the 2016 West Barnstable Village Festival.
BARS is participating the Barnstable “Adopt a Spot” program as part of the 208 Nitrogen Reduction program in Barnstable.
Thank you to the indispensable volunteers, recyclers, and the Town of Barnstable for making the BARS bottle and can recycling fundraiser a record making month for BARS.
