John Ferine – May 31, 1947 – July 22, 2020

West Barnstable – John W. Ferine died July 22, 2020 after a brief illness. Born May 31, 1947 in Yonkers, NY to Warren T. and Marian T. (Di Renzo) Ferine. He was a graduate of Lakeland High School. John proudly served in the United States Air Force as a certified Air Traffic Controller from 1966-1969. He retired after 30 years as Chief of Tool Control for Hamilton Standard (now UTAS) in Windsor Lock, CT. He served as Communicant for Our Lady of Victory Church, Centerville, MA. John was a long-standing member of the Barnstable Association for Recreational Shellfishing. He served as Treasurer of the Cape Cod Beagle Club and belonged to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. He was an avid fisherman and “better than par” golfer and loved taking his faithful companion, Rusty of runs at the Beagle Club.
He was predeceased by his mother, Marian. He leaves behind his long-time partner Thomas Lancour in their home in West Barnstable; his father Warren of Brant, NY; sisters, Joyce Johnson (John) of New Bern, NC, Marilyn Ferine (Geoff) of Litchfield, CT and Doreen Ferine of Newark, DE; brothers, Warren Ferine of Saugerties, NY and Mark Ferine (Tina) of Hopewell Junction, NY; 8 nieces and nephews; 13 great nieces and nephews; and too many friends to count.
BARS lost a long-time member, a good friend, and a great volunteer.
